The lead inventor of ICU's technology and a company co-founder is Willa H. Drummond, M.D., M.S. (Medical Informatics), an internationally recognized ICU physician with twenty years of experience as a practicing Neonatologist, board certification in Pediatric Cardiology, and an award winning bioinformatics researcher.
The Office of Technology Licensing supported Dr. Drummond’s efforts to form the company, and last year Lori Frank was recruited as CEO and Director to lead ICU Data Systems. Ms. Frank has almost 30 years of entrepreneurial expertise, including more than 18 years of executive level management of technology companies; she specializes in leading emerging companies in the development of go-to-market strategies and has spearheaded the building of numerous successful technology companies from start-up to acquisition.
As of late 2006, ICU Data Systems had netted a total of $1 million in venture capital investment.
