ViewRay, Inc.

ViewRay's patent pending cancer treatment technology, trade named the Renaissance System 1000 , allows real-time imaging to occur during radiation dosing, thus providing the industry's first opportunity to know where the radiation is actually going and if it's hitting the targeted tissue.

The chief inventor of this technology, James Dempsey, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the University of Florida Department of Radiation Oncology and ViewRay's Chief Science Officer.

Founding CEO Russ Donda and Chief Operating Officer, Jim Carnall are both veterans of the successful UF start-up Regeneration Technologies (RTIX) . Mr.Donda was introduced to Dr. Dempsey's revolutionary invention by the UF Office of Technology Licensing for the purpose of forming a company to move the technology to the marketplace where it could begin benefiting cancer patients. Mr. Donda has more than 25 years of executive and entrepreneurial leadership experience, including strategic alliance structuring, joint ventures, acquisitions, and intellectual property development. During Mr. Carnall's tenure as Director of Operations at the UF Tissue Bank and through RTIX's successful IPO in 2000, he was instrumental in creating a nearly 16-fold increase in production output, resulting in product availability of over $100 million annually.

ViewRay's efforts to move the Renaissance System 1000 to market are supported by almost $2 million from future users of the technology, and more than $ 125,000 in grants, including a $100,000 Small Business Technology Transfer Grant from the Florida Department of Health's James & Esther King Biomedical Research Program.
