Invention Disclosure Process
You have developed a revolutionary new technology - you want to protect your research and see your efforts reflected in new products or processes in the marketplace. After all this is the only way your expertise and hard work can benefit you, your co-inventors, and society at large. The Office of Technology Licensing is eager to work with you to make this happen. Here's how it works:

- Inventor submits invention disclosure form
- Invention disclosure reviewed by OTL
- OTL sets up a meeting with the inventor
- Invention evaluated for commercial potential by inventor and OTL
- OTL makes decision to file a patent on invention or waive rights to invention
- OTL and inventor conduct licensing research
- OTL negotiates license with outside company
- OTL completes license agreement (or waives rights to invention)
- UF follows revenue sharing guidelines
- OTL conducts ongoing license agreement evaluation
If you would like OTL to come talk to your group about the services we offer, please Contact OTL.
