Signature Requirements on Proposals and Sponsored Projects
All proposals and sponsored projects, including supplemental funding not included in original proposal submission require University review and approval. Typically there are 4 levels of approvals required:
-
Investigator(s)
-
Department Chair(s)
-
Dean(s)
-
Authorized Official in the Division of Sponsored Research
Approvals are to be collected prior to the submission of a proposal to a funding agency. In those cases where the approvals were not collected prior to submission, they will be required prior to accepting an award.
To collect approvals, you may use the Sponsored Projects Approval Form (DSR-1) or Peoplesoft Grants system.
Interdisciplinary projects or Multiple PI projects require signatures of all participating Principal Investigators, Co-Principal Investigators, Co-Investigators, and their respective Department Chairs, Center Directors and Deans.
A DSR-1 form is not required for non-competing applications where funding was requested as part of the original application and the release of such funds is based upon submission of a technical progress report . If a detailed budget is being requested as part of the non-competing application a DSR-1 form will be required.
